Captioning the clip, which garnered over 96,000 views,: 'Definitely wouldn't recommend getting a dog in college,' Maggie revealed how she discovered her pup was not what she had intended.
The content creator said: 'I got my dog off Craigslist and I bought her as a pure breed Shih Tzu puppy.'
Maggie then showed a picture of Alice to her followers to prove how 'believable' it was in the beginning.
She added that she couldn't find an earlier photo of the pup, but she was half the size and very fluffy.
Maggie said: 'So it was pretty believable.'
After bringing Alice home, Maggie noticed that she started getting 'bigger and bigger.'
She also revealed that she became suspicious when Alice began to shed a lot, which is something Shih Tzu don't tend to do.
Maggie said: 'Every time I asked the breeder about it, she would respond and the percentage of Shih Tzu she was kept getting lower and lower.

Finally, Maggie decided to have her genetically tested and discovered that she is zero per cent Shih Tzu and is actually a Chow Chow, Shepherd and Pitbull mix
'So now I have this 60 to 65 pound dog that is no Shih Tzu that sheds, drools a lot, and is way bigger than I anticipated,' Maggie revealed

'So at first it's "oh she's pure breed" then "she's 50 per cent" oh "her grandpa was a Shih Tzu."'
Eventually, the breeder stopped responding all together.
'I have this dog that is getting bigger and bigger,' the California-based content creator added.
Finally, Maggie decided to find the answer for herself.
'I get her genetically tested and it turns out that she is zero per cent Shih Tzu, she is actually mostly Shepard, Chow Chow, a little bit of Pitbull, and super Mutt.

She added that Alice has a 'snaggle tooth' and that she has had her for 'six years.'
